Matthew 5:14 states that, you are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
As Christians, we have dominion and are the chosen and the elect. We cannot, therefore, be afraid of the platforms that God will place us on for purposes of notoriety, knowing that we reap the benefits but God gets the glory. Be not afraid of promotion because it comes not from the north, south, east or the west but from above. Expect to be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, because this is the inheritance of those who love and trust in Him, according to Deuteronomy 28.
With certain positions come great responsibilities. If you look at the story of Joseph who is known from going from the prison to the palace, his journey speaks to momentum when it comes to positioning. God promoted him to a position that allowed him not only to save a nation from famine but his family as well.
Esther is another example of the power of God promoting you. Esther went from a commoner to Queen and it is quoted that Mordecai sent a charge to her to go to the King to make supplication to him and entreat him for the people. Esther replied to him that she had not been called to come to the king for thirty days and whoever comes before him without being called are to be put to death. Mordecai answered Esther, think now with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall their enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place, but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? (Esther 411-14). He was trying to tell her that the purpose of the position was bigger than you.
God has a purpose for your life and promotions, spot lights, and invitations to roundtables you would normally not be invited to, are all in His plan to further the Kingdom. God is looking for those who are obedient, those who have a heart to serve Him, and will not depart from Him when given the opportunity to be successful. You will reap the benefit, but He should get all the glory. So during your season of promotion and increase, don’t forget where your help came from and continue to be a vessel that God can use to provide for the needs of His people.
