You Will Recover All

Bible verse Job 42:12 now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning

Being a Christian doesn’t exempt us from difficult life issues.  Oftentimes, the closer you get to God, the more intense the spiritual battles get.  As you start praying scripture, as you start fasting, as you start entering into deeper realms of worship, the enemy is going to keep looking for ways in which to attack you.  And these blows won’t be the soft kind.  So today I’d like to point you to a man who was living righteously, but had the whole kitchen sink thrown at him.  You know who I’m talking about.

His name is Job.

Have a look at how the Book of Job opens up.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.
Job 1:1

So here we have a blameless man who suddenly starts to experience some painful losses.  He lost animals in raids, and fires.  He lost his children on one day, 7 sons and 3 daughters. His body was afflicted.  He smelled so much that even his servant kept away.

I call my servant, but he gives no answer
Job 19:16

Well we all know how this story ends, right?  The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning (Job 42:12)

After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations.  So Job died, old and full of days

Job 42:16-17

So God blessed Job’s steadfastness and gave him more than he had before.

But wait, there’s more.

As Job was going through his trials.  From his children, to his wealth, to his physical health.  Job seemingly lost everything.  But he didn’t lose his wife.  And in the preservation of his wife, God ensured that Job would not lose his ability to restore, to rebuild, to increase, to reproduce and to multiply.   God made sure to leave him with the key that he would use to recover all.

You may be in a situation where you’re reeling from having taken a major L.

I just lost my job

I just lost my livelihood

I just lost …

Whatever it is that you’ve lost, know this.  God isn’t going to leave those who are faithful to Him without the SEED and the KEY that they will use to rebuild, to restore, and to multiply.

It’s still there.

And because it’s still there, you can and you WILL recover what was lost.

So keep seeking the face of God, keep praying scripture, keep fasting (we’ve got a fast coming up on the 31st of January, 6 am – 6pm), keep believing that you will recover all, and then some.
